Journal Ten

ISO: 100
Shutter Speed: 1/60
Aperture: 5.6
This is a shot that I took in the Studio using two key lighting. One light is on the left side of her face, and the other is on the background. I brought the picture into Photoshop and did a Tritone. This photo shows a lot of emotion and has some really hard defining shadows.

Missed Opportunity

The other night, I was driving home, and looked up and saw the full moon surrounded by a few stars. I was going to go home and get out my camera and take some nice shots of it, but because I live in a valley, I couldn't see the moon from my house.
Next time I will make sure to get the time to be able to drive to a better spot to get a good photo.

Journal Eight

ISO: 400
Shutter Speed: 1/80
Aperture: 5.6

This is a version of my human form shot that I took on a DSLR before my film shoot. I liked this photo because there are a lot of hard shadows on my models body, and the curve writing is very faint and beautiful. One thing I would change about this shot, would be the hair that you can see at the top of the photo.

Journal Seven

ISO: 200
Shutter Speed: 1/80
Aperture: 5.6

This shot was taken in the studio with two key lighting. I used a DSLR camera and studio lighting. I liked this photo because it is a fun candid shot of her laughing.  I brought the shot into bridge and made it black and white, and added in the color of her bright red scarf and her blue eyes.

For this project our teacher taught us the importance of studio lighting. The above shots are three separate levels of lighting. The first with one light, the second with two lights, and the third has three. We faced them on and off of our models to create hard shadows, and beauty lighting. Working in the studio for me was fairly easy, because  I don't mind bossing around my models, and trying different things to get different results. One thing that was difficult for me was that the equipment was not working as well as it should, so some of my shots have no flash lighting.

Human Form

ISO: 400

I took these shots using a film camera and a tripod. The finished image is two film negatives layered on top of each other in the enlarger. I did this to create a much different aspect of my photos. To create the shots in the first place I used my model in a dark room with a projector showing the black cursive lettering onto her skin. One thing I would change about this shot is I could've made it so you could read the words on her body.
